Abstrakt/ Abstract: The main objective of the research was to determine the attitudes of a sample of second-grade elementary school pupils towards modern information and communication technologies, the frequency and method of their use. A quantitative study design was chosen, implemented using an anonymous questionnaire form. The research sample consisted of 500 second-grade pupils from 8 elementary schools in the South Moravian region, recruitment was carried out using the rolling snowball method. Students most often spend their free time individually, less organized, a third uses communication with virtual friends, a third uses personal meetings. A third of students watch television 16 or more hours a week, a third is engaged in computer activities 5 or more hours a day. They most often communicate on social networks, half of them even with unknown users. Every twentieth pupil has already encountered cyberbullying, Regular parental control is carried out in less than a fifth of the group. Approximately every tenth pupil plays on a slot machine at least several times a month. Pupils deal with problematic content on the web mainly with their peers, half of them ignore it completely. More consistent media education in the family and at school is desirable.
