Abstrakt/ Abstract: This study focuses on the analysis of the philosophical and pedagogical foundations of the work “Levana oder Erziehlehre” (1807) by German author Jean Paul (Johann Paul Friedrich Richter) in the context of German idealism and the humanistic pedagogical tradition at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Levana is interpreted as a unique contribution to the philosophy of education, which goes beyond the framework of normative pedagogy and understands education as a process of humanization in the unity of reason, emotion, and imagination. The study shows that Jean Paul rejects the reductionist conception of education as a technical discipline and instead conceives it as a creative and dialogical process between freedom and discipline, nature and culture. Special attention is paid to the intellectual context of the work's creation, especially its relationship to the ideas of Kant, Herder, Fichte, Rousseau, Pestalozzi, and the Pietist tradition. Levana is interpreted as a synthesis of moral, aesthetic, and anthropological reflection that anticipates the modern interdisciplinary understanding of pedagogy. The aim of the study is to show that Jean Paul's philosophy of education represents a significant, though often marginalized, chapter in the history of European pedagogical thought.
