Abstrakt/ Abstract: Slovak folk songs form a rich textual corpus which reflects the traditional value system of Slovak society. Each folk song functions as a cultural text that encodes and transmits collective wisdom and shared normative frameworks, and the Christian faith and its associated values are deeply embedded in these texts, providing Slovak people with hope, consolation and spiritual reassurance in times of adversity. These texts allow for a reconstruction of the complex system of sacred values in which God occupies a central and positively valorized position. This study examines Slovak folk songs with the objective of reconstructing and semantically interpreting the canon of religious values that permeates their textual structure.
