Abstrakt/ Abstract: The article Generational Silence and Emotional Paralysis in Monika Kompaníková's prose focuses on the interpretation of the novel Na sútoku (2016), in which the author uses a subtle narrative structure and psychologically precise characterization to address internal tensions and communication barriers in family relationships. The analysis is based on the concept of silence as a literary and psychological phenomenon that becomes a manifestation of emotional closedness and generational alienation. The aim of the literary contribution is to highlight the poetics of silence and detail through which Kompaníková captures the processes of emotional paralysis, suppressed pain, and the breakdown of intergenerational communication. The interpretation also reveals that the novel can be read as an intimate statement as well as a reflection of broader social trends that reveal the fragility, fragmentation, and vulnerability of the contemporary family in the context of changing values and the individualization of society.
