Abstrakt/ Abstract: Digitization of childhood and the construction of a digital footprint through sharenting represent a significant ethical, social, and societal challenge of today. The aim of this paper is to analyze the phenomenon of sharenting, i.e., the sharing of information about children by parents via social media platforms. The research focuses on identifying the frequency, content, and motives behind sharing, as well as the perceived risks from the parents’ perspective. Quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire completed by 170 respondents – predominantly mothers of children aged 1 to 6 years. The results indicate that parents most frequently share photographs from holidays and leisure activities, with Facebook being the dominant platform. The main motives are the creation of a digital album and the desire to introduce the child to a broader circle of acquaintances. Nevertheless, many parents are aware of the potential risks of sharing, with the majority preferring restricted privacy settings. The findings highlight the need for educating parents on digital security and protecting children's privacy in the online environment.
