Abstrakt/ Abstract: The theme of sanctity is one of the fundamental attributes of the Church, as professed in the Creed. This work focuses on the understanding of holiness in Eastern spirituality, where it is not reduced to moral perfection but represents participation in the life of God through the Holy Spirit. The first part explores the biblical and patristic foundations of holiness, emphasizing the Church’s connection with God’s people and Christ as the source of holiness. The second part presents theologian Pavel Evdokimov’s view on concrete manifestations of holiness – angels as messengers of holiness – and also the perspective of St. Seraphim of Sarov as a living icon of Eastern spirituality. The work shows holiness as both a gift and a calling, manifested in the life of every believer as a path of transformation, prayer, and deification. The Eastern tradition stresses the unity of liturgy, asceticism, and contemplation as the way to union with God. In the context of the challenges of the Second Vatican Council, the importance of returning to Scripture and the Church Fathers as sources for a deeper understanding of the Church as a communion of saints is highlighted.
