Abstrakt/ Abstract: This paper examines intergenerational differences in the perception of the climate crisis in Slovakia, with a focus on attitudes and forms of engagement related to environmental issues. The study aims to identify how different generations interpret the climate crisis, assess its seriousness, and perceive possibilities for individual and societal responses. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was employed, combining a quantitative survey of 218 respondents with qualitative structured interviews conducted with representatives of four generational cohorts. Quantitative findings indicate a high level of awareness and a broad recognition of the seriousness of the climate crisis across the sample, with the issue ranked among the most significant global challenges. Qualitative results, however, reveal notable generational differences in interpretation and emotional responses, which influence attitudes toward engagement and adaptation. Younger generations tend to perceive the climate crisis as a systemic and long-term problem, while older generations more often relate it to directly observable environmental changes. The findings highlight the importance of considering generational perspectives when analyzing public attitudes toward the climate crisis and when designing environmental policies and engagement strategies.
