Abstrakt/ Abstract: The paper presents findings from long-term research focused on inclusive music education in residential childcare institutions. The study draws on a qualitative research design that integrates case studies, in‑depth interviews and participatory observations. The results demonstrate that specialised music education constitutes a significant tool for developing social, emotional and cultural competences, while also supporting identity formation among children growing up not only in children’s homes but across the wider residential care system. The analysis builds on insights from multiple research projects and evaluates the potential for adapting El Sistema principles to the conditions of Czech residential childcare. The study situates these findings within the context of a globalised society and highlights the transformative potential of music education as an integral component of inclusive pedagogy.
