Abstrakt/ Abstract: Since the 2024/25 academic year, the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Hradec Králové, has been conducting longitudinal research focused on examining factors influencing the quality of study in the field of musical skills. The research focuses on students' expectations, their reflection, and self-reflection during their studies. The aim of this work is to perform a comparative analysis of input data from first-year students and output data from final-year students of the Primary School Teaching and Preschool Teaching study programs. The work monitors the development of self-reflection on musical competencies during the course of study and compares students' initial expectations with their final assessment of their own skills.
