Abstrakt/ Abstract: This study analyses the reception of conciliar and post-conciliar impulses in school religious education in Slovakia from the perspective of systematic theology. It argues that the implementation of the documents of the Second Vatican Council in religious education is not merely a pedagogical or institutional issue, but primarily a hermeneutical task of the Church. The analysis focuses on three criteria: the unity of Scripture and Tradition as sources of faith, the ecclesial framework of interpreting revelation, and the aim of transmitting faith as the development of intellectus fidei. Drawing on conciliar and post-conciliar magisterial texts and selected Slovak curricular documents, the study shows that the reception of conciliar renewal has moved from a predominantly transmissive model toward a more competence-based and hermeneutically oriented understanding of religious education. At the same time, it identifies a continuing tension between the declared theological vision and its methodological implementation in the school environment. The conclusion stresses the need for a clearer distinction between catechesis and school religious education, systematic work with the sources of faith, and the theological and didactic formation of religious education teachers.
