Abstrakt/ Abstract: The amendment to the Constitution of the Slovak Republic on September 26, 2025 holds the position of an event in Slovak society that divides people in terms of views on fundamental human rights issues, including the rights of intersex people. The change to the constitution includes the recognition of only two sexes. This constitutional change directly affects intersex people. Our research focuses on the analysis and theory of binary oppositions inspired by the approach of Teun A. van Dijk. The research includes a qualitative analysis of twelve comments from selected Slovak liberal and conservative online dailies. Our analysis shows that intersex people are mostly perceived by the media as part of a larger group. In the case of becoming the main topic in the media, intersex people are associated with the factor of a minority within a minority, the object of medical or legal discourse, and are rarely understood in terms of human rights and their position in Slovak society.
