    Abstrakt/ Abstract: For many people, a cancer diagnosis is a potentially traumatic life event that leads not only to psychological distress but also to positive psychological changes known as post-traumatic growth. In recent years, increased attention has been paid to the role of gratitude as a transdiagnostic source of mental well-being and adaptation. The aim of this article is to provide a narrative theoretical overview of the concepts of post-traumatic growth (PTG) and gratitude in people with cancer, to analyze theoretical models of their interrelationship, and to discuss implications for practice. Based on a synthesis of research, we hypothesize that gratitude acts as a significant predictor and mediator of posttraumatic growth through cognitive reappraisal, social support, and the creation of existential meaning. The article further discusses the possibilities of interventions aimed at promoting gratitude and post-traumatic growth in psycho-oncological care.
