Abstrakt/ Abstract: This paper examines the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) in general music education in Poland. The study aims to describe schools' technological preparedness and analyze the opportunities provided by the national core curriculum for developing students’ digital competencies. The paper discusses teachers' legal obligations regarding the use of modern media, as well as the infrastructural and financial challenges faced by educational institutions. Attention is given to the proposed educational model in which the student transitions from a passive recipient to an active creator, using digital tools such as DAW software, music notation editors, and AI-based solutions. The author highlights both the potential of technology to foster students’ creativity and cultural competencies and the risks arising from competence gaps among teaching staff and systemic limitations. The conclusions emphasize the need for systemic support for schools through investments in infrastructure and in teachers' continuous professional development.
