Abstrakt/ Abstract: This paper focuses on three exhibitions that took place this year at The Peter Michal Bohúň Gallery in Liptov Region under the umbrella theme Mara 50, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the first filling of the Liptovská Mara water dam. Each exhibition approaches the memory of the dam’s construction and its present condition from a distinct perspective. The first offers a sensitive commemoration of what remains submerged beneath the water; the second was conceived from artworks whose relevance has been affirmed through their inclusion in public Slovak collections; and the third examines reflections of Liptovská Mara in contemporary art.
